Two new Smartstream engine options are available under the hood of the 2021 Kia Picanto. The first of these is a 1.0-litre three-cylinder atmospheric engine producing 67 horsepower. The second is a 100 horsepower 1.0 T-GDi turbo petrol engine. Kia claims the engines are more economical and environmentally friendly than before thanks to the new integrated thermal management system (ITMS) and the optional semi-automatic transmission. The Kia Picanto, which has also been updated with driving assistant technologies, is equipped with new active safety systems. Key safety systems such as forward-facing collision assistant with vehicle and Pedestrian Detection, Blind Spot Collision assistant, Lane tracking system, driver caution alert and rear cross traffic alert are available depending on the hardware level of choice.

The front bumper of the sporty version features vertical air intakes and bright black detailing, while the X-Line features a satin Chrome plug-in that makes the car look closer to the crossover models. The 14-inch diameter 16-spoke and 16-inch dual-tone diamond-cut wheels are also among the innovations that come with makeup. As we move into the interior, we see the screens in the make-up Kia Picanto renewed and the personalization options increased. The infotainment screen in the center has been increased to 8 inches and the physical buttons on its sides have been taken down. Two devices, one USB and one Bluetooth-connected, can be connected simultaneously to the Android Auto and Apple CarPlay supported multimedia system. The dashboard on the front of the driver now also has a digital display of 4.2 inches instead of 2.6 inches.
