2021 Hyundai Kona

There are updates to the engine options of the 2021 Hyundai Kona. At the top of the series is the 1.6 liter T-GDI Smartstream engine that produces 194 horsepower. Combined with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, the engine can be purchased with front or all-wheel drive. The 1.6-liter Smartstream diesel engine with 48V mild hybrid technology is also among the options of Kona with facelift. The engine, which produces 134 horsepower, can be preferred with a 7-speed dual-clutch or Hyundai’s 6-speed intelligent manual transmission (iMT). In this version, the four-wheel-drive system is optional.

The Kona family has a 1.0-liter T-GDI Smartstream gasoline engine that produces 118 horsepower at the entry-level. This small-volume engine is also combined with Hyundai’s 6-speed intelligent manual transmission and 48V mild-hybrid technology. If customers want to opt for the 1.0-liter engine without mild hybrid support, they can choose between a 7-speed dual-clutch or 6-speed manual transmission. The all-wheel-drive system is also optional in this version.

The 2021 Hyundai Kona also includes the Kona Hybrid version, which consists of a 1.6-liter GDI unit, an electric motor, and a 1.56 kWh battery. Kona Hybrid, which has a total of 138 horsepower, is offered with a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission combination and front-wheel drive option. It is also among the information that updates have been made to the Kona’s suspension system to increase driving comfort. There are also improvements in the steering system and insulation.

The Korean brand, which preserves the structure of the current model in Hyundai Kona, has made changes in details, mainly on the front. Redesigned LED daytime running lights, a wider black grille, new three-piece LED headlights and a revised bumper section are among the highlights. At the back of Kona, the new stops with revised graphics draw attention. The vehicle is also available with 16, 17, and 18-inch wheels.
