The lighter, faster and more hard core McLaren Senna GTR has arrived, the track monster has just got even more track focused. The GTR badge in McLaren world is reserved for their cars that don;t worry about complying with road regulations, instead concentrating on making the car go fast around a race track.

Featuring the Monocage III-R chassis used for the regular Senna, the GTR adds even more carbon fiber to the mix reducing the dry weight down to just 2.619 lbs (1,188 kg). The 4.0L V8 Twin Turbocharged M840TRV8 engine is also the same from the Senna, but with an extra 25 PS (19 kW) more power squeezed out. 19-inch ultra lightweight forged alloys wheels are new, and wrapped with slick Pirelli 285-section front and 325-section rear tyres.

The real star of the show for the Senna GTR is the aero numbers. McLaren claim an extra 200 kilograms of downforce at 155 mph which brings the total up to 1,000 kg. The outer edges of the front splitter now have vortex generators which smooth out the airflow underneath the car. The rear diffuser is also new, as well as the giant rear wing that features LMP1-style endplates connected to the lower bodywork. These components all generate more downforce without any extra drag as the Senna GTR has the same drag rating as the road going car.
