2018 Ferrari FXX-K Evo

The Evo package has arrived for the Ferrari FXX-K, both as a limited edition model and upgrade for existing FXX-K’s, showcasing Ferrari’s innovation and uncompromising performance. The Evo edition continues the tradition of Ferrari’s XX cars being developed through extensive track work, providing a revised aero and performance update that increases the capabilities of the car. This all started in 2005 with the original FXX which was based off the Ferrari Enzo. Next came the 599XX, and now the FXX-K, all of which have received the Evo upgrade package through the years. All the Ferrari XX cars are developed for track use only, and are not street legal, remaining exclusive to the XX track program only and not available for any racing series outside of that.

The aero package of the new Ferrari FXX-K Evo has been developed by Ferrari’s engineers in synergy with the Ferrari Style Centre’s designers, pushing the limits of the performance capabilities of the car. With a year’s worth of CFD and wind tunnel testing the Evo now generates downforce figures close to that of cars competing in the GT3 and GTE championships. Even with that extra downforce the drag coefficient has been improved by 23% over the regular FXX K, and represents a 75% increase on the LaFerrari road car from which it is derived. Ferrari’s extensive Formula 1 experience and knowledge has also helped reduce the weight of the car whilst also adding a fixed rear wing element to the package.
